Our approach to privacy
Keala is designed to help executive assistants and executives make better business-travel decisions while minimizing access to customer information. We believe travel intelligence should not require broad or unnecessary access to your calendar.
Information Keala accesses
When you intentionally use Keala with an Outlook calendar meeting, Keala may process information needed to generate a travel recommendation, including meeting subject, location, date and time, organizer information, and relevant calendar context.
Keala may also process preferences you provide, such as home airport, airline or alliance preferences, travel policy, cabin preferences, hotel preferences and working-hour preferences.
Keala uses Microsoft authentication and may access basic Microsoft account information and calendar information permitted by the permissions granted to Keala.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate users, understand the selected meeting, generate travel recommendations, apply saved travel preferences, operate and secure the service, troubleshoot problems and improve product reliability.
What Keala does not do
Keala does not sell personal information. Keala does not use customer calendar information for advertising. Keala does not write to your calendar. Keala does not book travel on your behalf. Keala does not perform continuous background scanning of your calendar for the purpose of building behavioral profiles.
Microsoft data
Keala uses Microsoft services and delegated permissions to provide its Outlook functionality. Microsoft account and calendar access is limited to the permissions authorized by the user or organization and is used to provide Keala's functionality.
Security and Infrastructure
Service providers
Keala may use trusted infrastructure, authentication, analytics and travel-data providers to operate the service. Information is shared with service providers only as necessary to provide and secure Keala.
Data retention
Keala seeks to minimize retention of calendar and travel information. Information is retained only as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain user preferences, meet security and operational requirements, and comply with applicable law.
Security
Keala uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information processed by the service.
Your choices and updates
You may stop using Keala or revoke its Microsoft permissions through your Microsoft account or organization. You may contact Keala regarding access, correction or deletion requests relating to information associated with your account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Keala evolves. The current version will be published on this page with its latest revision date.
